16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is an international campaign organised by the Business Coalition for Gender Equality (BCGE) to challenge violence against women and girls. The campaign runs every year from 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day. It was initiated in 1991 by the first Women’s Global Leadership Institute, held by the Center for Women’s Global Leadership (CWGL) at Rutgers University.

To help build better workplaces, BCGE encourages businesses in Myanmar to understand the impact of GBV, harassment and bullying on businesses and employees.

In this campaign, BCGE is partnering with the IFC, the Gender Equality Network (GEN), Akhaya Women, and DKT Myanmar to address GBV in the context of COVID-19 and how to create a safe and equal workplace free of harassment, discrimination and bullying.

In 2020, the Campaign will increase its efforts to amplify the importance of ending gender-based violence at the workplace and at home, particularly as many globally transition to working from home. BCGE aims to help businesses, particularly top management and HR practitioners, with organisational development to build better workplaces free of harassment, discrimination and bullying, particularly during COVID-19.

The series will take place from November 24th - December 10th and includes 5 webinars as listed below.

  1. Learn How to Build a Safe and Happy Workplace: Anti-Harassment Training Launch
