On 25 May 2018, the European General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) will come into force, affecting not only European organizations and businesses, but possibly any enterprise processing data of persons in the European Union. The new regulations do also apply if personal data is transferred from a European headquarter to a business in Myanmar - a situation which is very common for subsidiaries of European companies. Non-compliance can be sanctioned with fines up to EUR 20 Million or 4% of the worldwide annual turnover (whichever is higher).
During our workshop, GDPR expert Sebastian Blasius (Attorney-at-Law) will help you to evaluate whether the European General Data Protection Regulation will be relevant for your organisation - and if so, which steps have to be taken to ensure your compliance with the new rules.
