•To work as a resource person under the supervision of the Head of Political, Press and Information Section
•To follow issues related to Myanmar's democratic transition, electoral process, human rights situation, peace and national reconciliation process and socio-economic development
•To provide timely analysis and reports on the political and socio-economic developments and the human rights situation in Myanmar and on Myanmar as a member of ASEAN and the region
•To liaise with the line ministries of the union government, state and regional ministries, other local authorities, political parties, civil society, academia and researchers and the international community
•To prepare regular and ad-hoc reports, analyses and briefings on issues relevant for the Political, Press and Information section
•To represent the Section, when requested, at meetings, workshops, and conferences and report back on these events
•To accompany the Head of Delegation and the Political, Press and Information section to in-country missions and provide interpretation as needed
•To monitor Myanmar language media and social media and translate relevant articles into English and contribute to the EU Delegation's daily press review; •If needed, to assist in the organisation of the EU Delegation's public diplomacy events and translate press releases.
- Medically fit to perform the required duties
- Enjoys civil rights and permits for employment under local law
- Excellent command of Myanmar Language (written and spoken) – at the level of mother tongue
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken) – C2 level
- Must hold a University Degree that is relevant for the function
- Must have at least 7 years of work experience in the issues related to the job profile
