EuroCham Myanmar is the European Chamber of Commerce, representing over 160 European businesses and affiliated organisations operating in Myanmar. We work to provide reliable and relevant insights on daily basis to our members on the current business context in Myanmar. We organise briefings and events on a regular basis, facilitating knowledge sharing and advocacy efforts. We pride ourselves on having strong relationships with key stakeholders.

In sum, the Chamber offers a platform to businesses for engagement and access to reliable, verified, and relevant information from our team working on the ground in Myanmar.

The Admin Associate will work in close alignment with the Finance Officer and the Finance Associate. The Admin Associate’s efforts ensure that EuroCham Myanmar’s operations are running smoothly.

EuroCham Myanmar works with a small team in Yangon, and we are looking for someone who is the best fit to the team, an enthusiastic and dedicated colleague who is looking forward to working with us to support European business in Myanmar.

The day-to-day activities of the Associate will be decided in close alignment with Finance Officer and the Head of Operations and Business Growth.

KEY TASKS

Logistics

– Booking travel and hotels for EuroCham Myanmar business purposes.

– Provide management team members assistance in booking flights and hotels for EuroCham Myanmar business purposes.

– Prepare visa recommendation and invitation letters

– Manage and arrange logistics procedures for the logistics officer.

Events

– Assist the Event Officer in the organisation of events, assisting with the set up on location

– Assisting in the preparation of physical event props, such as banners or table stands

– Welcoming of members and attendees to EuroCham Myanmar in person even, handling registrations

– Handle petty cash, if needed, at events

– In close alignment with the Finance Associate, prepare event receipts

Legal

– Assist with the visa & FRC application process for international employees and interns. Finance Manager to oversee and prepare, Admin Associate to apply at the office.

– Handle all matters related to legal incorporation with the government office, in close oversight of the Finance Manager

– Conduct personal income tax payments online or in person and report them to the government authority, in close oversight of the Finance Manager

Office

– Arrange for new staff orientation, farewells, and birthdays.

– Assist in interview processes and set up for meetings/appointments.

– Receive and orient visitors of EuroCham Myanmar and prepare the meeting room.

– Receive and answers office telephone

– Support secretarial services as per EuroCham Team needs (photocopying, phone calls, correspondence).

– Organize office cleaning services.

– Organize the purchase of monthly office utilities and consumables.

– Organize postage services, including sending letters when needed.

– Booking clinics for vaccines such as seasonal flu or COVID.

– Arranging the annual office renewal, align with agent and submit to Finance Manager who proceeds with CEO approval. Admin to run the bank payment.

– Arranging staff’s health insurance, align with agent and submit to Finance Manager who proceeds with CEO approval. Admin to run the bank payment.

Qualifications and Requirements

– Fluency in Myanmar and English

– Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with advanced skills

– Ability to work online and in-person

– Must be highly organised, detail-oriented and be able to successfully handle multiple projects and tasks at the same time.
