EuroCham Myanmar is the European Chamber of Commerce, representing 160 European businesses and affiliated organisations operating in Myanmar. We work to provide reliable and relevant insights on daily basis to our members on the current business context in Myanmar. We organise briefings and events on a regular basis, facilitating knowledge sharing and advocacy efforts. We pride ourselves on having strong relationships with key stakeholders.

In sum, the Chamber offers a platform to businesses for engagement and access to reliable, verified, and relevant information from our team working on the ground in Myanmar.

The Communications Officer will serve as the primary person for the execution of the communications and marketing of the Chamber, ensuring that we communicate clearly and regularly about the work we do. The Communications Officer’s efforts ensure that both in Myanmar and outside of Myanmar business and stakeholders know how to find us and know what services we offer.

Strategic planning and direction setting will be done in close alignment with the Head of Operations and Business Growth, but the Officer is expected to take the lead in ensuring external communications among EuroCham Myanmar channels on a continuous basis.

  • Work in close cooperation with the policy and event teams and manage all communication activities, ensuring a strong position of the Chamber.
  • The Communication Officer designs and implements the EuroCham Myanmar communications strategy, makes recommendations for improvements, and ensures consistent, contemporary branding all Chamber communication.
  • Maintaining and growing a strong digital online presence for the Chamber through the management of multiple, internal and external communication tools ensuring ongoing cohesion between PR, marketing activities, website, social media and newsletters.

EuroCham Myanmar works with a small team in Yangon, and we are looking for someone who is the best fit to the team, an enthusiastic and dedicated colleague who understand the current business context and who is looking forward to working with us to support European business in Myanmar.

Key tasks


  • Develop and deliver the communication plans of EuroCham Myanmar
  • Manage and maintain the database of members, stakeholders and media channels.
  • Handle all incoming communication and marketing-related enquiries.
  • Coordinate production and dissemination of publications
  • Support the business development efforts of the Chamber: attracting multinational companies (MNC’s) and affiliate members to join the Chamber.
  • Set, monitor and optimize the budget related to EuroCham Myanmar’s communication efforts
  • Other tasks requested by the Head of Operation and Business Growth

Public Relations

  • Write press releases for the chamber occasions and other external communications.
  • Create and ensure ongoing cohesion between PR, marketing activities, website, social media, and newsletters.
  • Manage and develop a shared PR/media/social media calendar in conjunction with EuroCham Myanmar activities and publications.


  • Manage the inventory of publications and promotional materials.
  • Prepare e-Newsletter weekly/monthly with investment information, articles, interviews, event reviews, job opportunities and other EuroCham-relevant information.
  • Collaborate closely with the policy team to support the EuroCham Myanmar Bi-monthly survey, Daily/Weekly updates to members and other factsheets.
  • Liaise with service providers (designers, printers, translators) for quotes and project management.
  • Design and write professional publications covering a range of business, corporate and regional/local chamber topics.


  • Manage all communication channels and social media platforms of EuroCham Myanmar
  • Plan and execute the social media efforts of the Chamber, engaging with followers on LinkedIn and other relevant social media.
  • Ensure comprehensive coverage of Chamber’s announcements and activities.
  • Updating the website content using the back-office dashboard and liaising with an external web agency for troubleshooting.
  • Provide support to the team with communication-related issues and assist in setting up equipment when needed to ensure smooth communication within the team.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Fluency in Myanmar and English
  • Ability to work online and in-person
  • Excellent writing skills, ability to present complex information in a clear and engaging manner to business professionals, trade and policy experts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enabling interaction with individuals at all organizational levels, including senior management of member companies.
  • Proficiency in publishing tools (e.g., canva), email marketing platforms (e.g., MailChimp), WordPress, and an excellent understanding of Microsoft and other technical tools.
  • Must be highly organised, detail-oriented and be able to successfully handle multiple projects and tasks at the same time.
  • Experience with European organisation and businesses is a plus.
