National Seminar on Food Safety
Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) organized National Seminar on Food Safety in cooperation with International Financial Corporation on 9th November 2018. The goal of the seminar is to help food sector companies improve food safety practices, to increase the country’s competitiveness and to develop the agribusiness sector to increase exports, draw investments, and generate jobs. Vice President of UMFCCI U Ye Min Aung, IFC Country Manager Mr. Vikram Kumar and Head of DFID Myanmar Dr. Gail Marzetti delivered opening remarks, and Vice President of Myanmar Food Processors and Exporters Association (MFPEA) U Sein Thaung Oo made a presentation on Food Safety and Challenge in Myanmar, and Food Safety Specialist of IFC Mr. Yuriy Zvazhenko presented about IFC’s Global Food Safety Work around the Globe. Open session was joined by the officials from FDA and Consumer Affairs Department.
The Seminar was attended by Government Affairs Manager of EuroCham U Htet Aung Khine.
