EuroCham Automotive Advocacy Group met with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce
The EuroCham Automotive Advocacy Group met with U Yan Naing Tun, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce on the 6th of December in Nay Pyi Daw. The EuroCham delegation was represented by Automotive Advocacy Officer Mr. Carlo Chiozzi and Government Affairs Manager of EuroCham (Naypyidaw) Ms. Khin Soe Htaik, together with a delegation from the Automotive Association Myanmar (AAM).
The meeting was an occasion to discuss the two main issues affecting the automotive sector in Myanmar, namely, the Yangon Vehicles Quota Certificate (YVQC) and individual importers. According to EuroCham’s findings, Myanmar has lost almost USD5 million in revenues in 2018 due to the delay in implementing the YVQC.
