EuroCham Myanmar signs MoU with Myanmar Intellectual Property Proprietors' Association
EuroCham Myanmar signed a very significant Memorandum of Understanding between the Myanmar Intellectual Property Proprietors' Association (MIPPA) and the European Chamber of Commerce Myanmar on 4th February 2019.
The purpose of this Memorandum is to enhance the collaboration between Myanmar and European businesses, and to combat illicit trade by working together to strengthen Intellectual Property Rights.
The ceremony was successfully organized at the MIPPA Office and an opening address was given by Mr. Filip Lauwerysen, Executive Director of EuroCham Myanmar and Mr. Thein Aung, the Vice President of MIPPA. Co-Chair of the Ani-Illicit Trade Advocacy Group, Ms. Khine Wai Thwe, highlighted the mandate of the group and the interest in working together with MIPPA. Mr. Than Maung, Central Executive Committee Member of the MIPPA also welcomed MoU signing and its participants; Mr. Alex Nyi Nyi Aung, Mr. Phyoe Wai Khant and Ms. May Thant Lwin. To conclude, the MoU was signed by the MIPPA president, Mr. Kyaw Kyaw Win and EuroCham Myanmar Executive Director, Mr. Filip Lauwerysen.
