The Deputy Minister for Commerce received The Stakeholders of Wine & Spirits Industry
The Deputy Minister, U Aung Htoo, along with the Permanent Secretary U Aung Soe, a Deputy Director General of Department of Consumer Affairs, a Deputy Director General of Department of Trade and a Deputy Director General of Myanmar Trade Promotion Organisation and an Assistant Secretary of Minister Office, received the Stakeholders of Wine & Spirits Industry on the 1st of April in Nay Pyi Taw. The Stakeholders of Wine & Spirits Industry was presented by the representative of Asia Pacific International Wine and Spirits Alliance (APIWSA), the managing directors of Pernod Ricard Asia and Andaman Capital Partners, the representatives of Myanmar Retailers Association and a Government Affairs Manager of EuroCham Myanmar representing the EuroCham Myanmar Wine & Spirits Advocacy Group.
In the meeting, the representative of the Wine &Spirits industry presented the Joint Position Papers to the Deputy Minister and discussed the challenges of foreign liquor importation to Myanmar. The Deputy Minister discussed the progress of liberalisation on importation of foreign liquor and the way forward of the process. The Deputy Minister welcomed the inputs and recommendations of the stakeholders of Wine & Spirits industry.
