EuroCham Automotive Advocacy Group discusses Automotive Industry Issues with Trade Department

Representatives of EuroCham Automotive Advocacy Group and Automotive Association of Myanmar (AAM) were received by Deputy Director General of the Department of Trade U Myint Thura and officials of the Ministry of Commerce on 3rd of April 2019. EuroCham Myanmar delegation was represented by Director of Operations of Audi Mr. Antoine Jeanson, Brand Director of Yoma German Motors Mr. Dom Lejeune, and Government Affairs Manager of EuroCham Myanmar (Yangon) Mr. Htet Aung Khine. AAM delegates were Chairman U Aung Win, Executive Officer U Myo Cho and Office Manager U Suan Sian Piang.

The meeting was set to discuss the current issues in the Myanmar automotive sector regarding the implementation of the Yangon Vehicle Quota Certificate (YVQC), parallel trade of vehicles, CIF restrictions, and storage of licensed items in SEZ bonded warehouses. The DDG U Myint Thura also updated the activities of Vehicle Importation Supervision Committee chaired by the Union Minister of Commerce.
