Commerce Ministry launched Upgraded Version of the Trade Portal and Trade Repository
Ministry of Commerce, with the support of USAID, launched an upgraded version of the Trade Portal and Trade Repository website, and the launching ceremony was held on 29th March 2019 at Novotel Yangon Max in Yangon. The new version is based on the 2016 edition, and it was entirely developed by the MoC and other ministries and departments in 2019.
The main objective of the website is to share all the regulatory requirements the traders need to fulfill in order to carry out their transactions. It will also update trade regulations, notifications, registration documents and forms, restrictions, quotas, rules and conditions for importers and exporters of Myanmar, along with the sample forms required for transactions and the relevant links to proceed the online registration.
The website also serves a platform where government officials, on behalf of private companies, can negotiate with or make complaints towards their counterparts in ASEAN countries regarding cases of regulation infringements of the mandate or the recommendations of WTO or ASEAN. Private companies can file complaints regarding trade regulatory issues through the ASSIST box at the Home page. These complaints will be settled via two channels: ASEAN Secretariat and Regional Commerce Ministries.
