EuroCham Myanmar signs MoU of collaboration with Myanmar Food Processors and Exporters Association (MFPEA)
EuroCham Myanmar signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Myanmar Food Processors and Exporters Association on 22nd April 2019 with purposes to enhance the collaboration between MFPEA and EuroCham, between Myanmar businesses and European businesses, by working to improve local food standards for producers, processors, distributors and consumers.
The ceremony was successfully organised at the MFPEA Office, and opening addresses were given by Mr. Aye Win, the Chairman of MFPEA Mr. Filip Lauwerysen, Executive Director of EuroCham Myanmar. Co-Chair of the EuroCham Agrobusiness Advocacy Group Ms. Esther Wintraecken highlighted the mandate of the group and the interest in working together with MFPEA. EuroCham delegation was represented by Executive Director Mr. Filip Lauwerysen, Agrobusiness Advocacy Group Co-chair Ms. Esther Wintraecken, Agrobusiness Advocacy Officer Andrew Donni, Government Affairs Manager Mr. Htet Aung Khine, Event Officer Ms. Wai Pwint Wabo and Policy and Strategy Officer Ms. May Thant Lwin. The MFPEA was represented by Chairman Aye Win, and accompanying Central Executive Committee Members; U Aung Shwe, Ye Myint Maung, Dr. Thin Nwe Win, Thin Maung Myint, Aung Kyaw Nyein and Hla Myint.
Following the signing of the MoU, Central Executive Committee Members of the MFPEA and the EuroCham representatives shared views on food safety standards in Myanmar and future collaboration in the sector.
EuroCham Myanmar looks forward to a fruitful and rewarding relationship with the MFPEA, and working with the entire food supply chain, from producer to consumer.
