EuroCham Myanmar participated in the Myanmar Responsible Business and Human rights Forum organised by UMFCCI
The Myanmar Responsible Business and Human rights Forum, organised by UMFCCI and supported by ILO, took place in Melia Yangon on May 30th and 31st. It provided a space for dialogue between governments, business, civil society, international organizations, academia and youth on the role of business in promoting human rights and peace.
EuroCham Myanmar Deputy Director, Marc de la Fouchardière, was invited to moderate the panel “Labour and Human Rights in Foreign Trade Instruments and implications for Myanmar”. The panel stressed the importance of foreign investment to support the economic development of Myanmar, as well as the role of the government and local businesses in promoting international standards of human and labour rights.
