Myanmar's new Intellectual Property (IP) Laws: Implications, risks and opportunities
Myanmar's much anticipated new Intellectual Property (IP) Laws were finally passed this year, kicking into gear the establishment of a new IP regime that is more consistent with international standards and frameworks -- a move that is hoped to inspire more investor's confidence in the country. Pablo Galvez (EuroCham Myanmar), Lingyi Quek (Dentons Myanmar) and Eunice Chan (KASS Myanmar) provide an overview of these newly enacted laws and discuss the implementation as well as the implications, risks, and opportunities of the trademark law in particular for investors and businesses.
