Unilever commits to reducing its plastic waste
On 7th October, Unilever launched an ambitious plan to reduce its plastic waste by 2025. These commitments will ensure that all their plastic packaging are fully reusable, recyclable or compostable. The brand also commits to cut their use of virgin plastic in half and will collect and process plastic more than they sell.
To achieve those commitments, Unilever will work further in the reduction and reuse of recycled plastic, invest in waste collection and processing and pay directly for the collection of packaging.
These commitments build upon those made by the company in 2017 to adapt to their consumers growing demand for recycled grows and change their approach to plastic packaging.
