EuroCham Myanmar and BCGE gave a talk on gender equality in the workplace
On the 11th February 2020, EuroCham Myanmar organised a breakfast talk in partnership with BCGE on how to promote gender equality as an employer.
The event gathered 5 panelists from different backgrounds, among them, Daw Mii-Mii Tint Kyi - Head of HR Development and Training Total, Daw Thuzar Win - Business development Director of Alpha Power Engineering Co. Ltd, Daw Khin Sandi Lwin, Leadership facilitator, former UNICEF Representative and UN Resident Coordinator andMr Mai-Lam Dong, Country Manager, Schneider Electric.
The panel was moderated by Daw Kyawt Kay Thi Win, BCGE Country Director, who gave an introduction on what gender equality stands for prior to start the panel discussion.
The topics discussed during the Breakfast Talk were equal opportunities and treatment for men and women, recruitment policies, sharing of best practices regarding gender equality, participation of women at the workplace, and women empowerment being a responsibility of both the employer and the employee.
