Cross-Internship and Human Resources Development Programme

The HR Working Group of EuroCham Myanmar has launched the Cross-Internship and Human Resources Development Programme, a collaborative effort designed to strengthen Myanmar’s talent pool by providing underprivileged young professionals with experience across different industries and sectors.

Instead of staying within a single organization, interns rotate through several EuroCham Myanmar member companies, allowing them to learn how businesses operate in different functions and environments. Current participants from the batch 1 are gaining exposure to:

  • Unilever – insights into the fast-moving consumer goods sector, with experience in marketing, brand management, and organizational culture.
  • Heineken – hands-on learning in the manufacturing sector, including global-standard HR practices, sustainability, and production operations.
  • DKSH – experience in distribution and market expansion services, where interns see how international companies connect products and consumers in Asia.

This cross-sector structure ensures that participants are not only building technical and professional skills but also learning how to adapt quickly to diverse corporate cultures. By the end of the programme, interns emerge with a multi-industry perspective, preparing them to become flexible, future-ready professionals.

The programme also benefits companies by driving:

  • Talent Development – businesses contribute to building a skilled workforce for Myanmar.
  • Knowledge Exchange – HR teams share best practices and strengthen collaboration.
  • Stronger Networks – companies build connections while supporting the next generation of leaders.

EuroCham Myanmar member companies like Unilever, Heineken, and DKSH are already leading by example, demonstrating how collaboration across sectors can create sustainable impact in workforce development.

Looking ahead, EuroCham Myanmar has the ambition to expand this programme further, bringing more companies and industries into the rotation and providing even greater opportunities for Myanmar’s young professionals. The vision is to build a sustainable pipeline of talent ready to take on leadership roles, while also deepening collaboration between the private sector and the wider business community.

If you would like to be part of shaping the future of this programme or explore opportunities for your company to join, please contact hr.admin@eurocham-myanmar.org.
