Ordinary Memberships
A company can apply for Ordinary Membership if:
a) It is a legal entity duly established under the laws of any European country, or a legal entity established under the laws of Myanmar being directly or indirectly controlled by a European country citizen or by an EU entity established under the laws of any EU Member State. Companies registered in other South-East Asian countries and representing Europe based companies or European commercial interests are equally eligible;
OR
b) It is a legal entity that conducts business or promotes business, between Europe and Myanmar.
If the applicant satisfies the criteria set forth under a), then it is eligible for the membership de jure and will become an Ordinary Member of EuroCham upon request and after payment of fees as appropriate.
If the applicant satisfies the criteria set forth under b), then it must submit an application to EuroCham and the Board will decide at its sole discretion whether such applicant is eligible for the membership.
If the applicant does not satisfy the criteria set forth under a) or b), it shall not be eligible as a EuroCham Myanmar Member. However, it may be associated with EuroCham Myanmar (without any voting right) on a case by case basis, when deemed appropriate by the Board.
Four Ordinary Memberships available:
1. Affiliate Ordinary Membership
The affiliate membership will be limited to non-business only, specifically schools, embassies, associations, and NGOs. There will be no access to advocacy services, either the advocacy groups or the dedicated advocacy events. The affiliate membership should be seen merely as an option to join the chamber for visibility and the strong network of the European business community in Myanmar.
Yearly fees for inscription in 2022:
Inscription: 500 €
Administrative costs: none.
2. Indirect Ordinary Membership
European Companies already a member of any bilateral chamber established in Myanmar will be considered as Indirect Members of EuroCham provided that the company’s headquarter is legally located in the member state of the bilateral chamber. Membership proof from the concerned EU bilateral chamber needs to be attached to this membership form.
Yearly fees for inscription in 2022:
Inscription: 750 €
Administrative costs: none.
3. SME Ordinary Membership
Following EU law definition.
Yearly fees for inscription in 2022:
Inscription: 700 €
Administrative costs (only first year): 50€
4. Multinational Ordinary Membership
Following EU law definition.
Yearly fees for inscription in 2022:
Inscription: 1500 €
Administrative costs (only first year): 100€.
