Given the deteriorating economic situation in Myanmar, UNDP prepared a survey-based study on the garments sector, which provides mass employment in Myanmar, called “Livelihoods hanging by a thread: A survey of garment workers and firms “.
The purpose of this study is to hear from the workers and firm owners about how the recent disturbances affect their livelihoods and businesses, respectively. The survey focuses on the difficulties encountered by workers who are either laid off or forced to move to another occupation and their perception of the sector’s outlook.
On 23rd August, UNDP and EuroCham Myanmar is co-organizing a briefing on this study. We invite you to attend this briefing to tune in to the updates on the garment industry and provide feedback on this report during the session. The details of the briefing are as follows:
Date: 23rd August 2022, Tuesday
Time: 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM (MMT)
