Business Confidence Survey Launch: Sharing insights from the 8th edition of bi-monthly survey

On the 29th of September, EuroCham Myanmar hosted a briefing session on 8th edition of business confidence survey, “Impact of the current events on the European Business Community in Myanmar-September,2022”.This briefing was attended by the Ambassador of the European Union Delegation to Myanmar, the Trade councilors from the embassies of the member states, and EuroCham Myanmar members, and the insightful findings from the 8th survey were presented.

Banking issues including outbound transfers, buying USD, and withdrawal of USD, are reported by 84% of the respondents as the main constraint that hinders operations, and the regulatory issues are indicated as the second most challenging issue as 58% of the businesses surveyed are still facing uncertainties in applying for import licenses. A new operational challenge in September 2022 is related to procedures related to issuing and extending business visas.

Over 60 participants attended this 8th briefing and the next round of survey briefing is expected to be held at the beginning of 2023.
