Launch of 11th survey on the impact of the current events on the European Business Community

As a regular bi-monthly business confidence survey, EuroCham Myanmar has launched the 11th edition of the members-only survey conducted in June, aiming to understand the current business climate and share the insights with the strategic stakeholders.

Some findings revealed that 67% of the businesses surveyed remain constrained by the complication of dealing with banking procedures and foreign currencies, particularly outbound transfer, import license applications, and USD buying. The banking issues, in conjunction with the changes in the regulations hindering imports across the various sectors, have resulted in ongoing concern about the regulatory challenges for 59% of the respondents, as described in the figure below.

Despite the uncertainties and challenging business environment, the majority of the European businesses surveyed are committed to continuing operations and have shown resilience to maintain their presence in the country in the next 6 months.

This 11th business confidence survey is available for members only, and please reach out to us at business.development@eurocham-myanmar.org for more details and a full survey report.
