Renewable Energy: A Forum Exploring Solutions for Textile, Clothing & Footwear Industry Amidst Ongoing Energy Challenges

On November 30, 2023, the MADE in Myanmar project hosted a forum on “Renewable Energy Solutions for the Textile, Clothing & Footwear Industry,” co-organised by EuroCham Myanmar. Bringing together representatives from factories, brands, energy solution providers, and financial institutions, the event aimed to address critical energy-related issues and explore opportunities for renewable energy solutions. In addition to the plenary session, discussions were held on solutions for a greener and more resilient industry.

EuroCham Myanmar remains committed to promoting the transition to green energy, and we are pleased to have several members of our Energy Advocacy Group, including Mandalay Yoma and Yoma Micro Power, presenting their energy solutions at the event.

According to the 12th Business Confidence Survey conducted by EuroCham Myanmar, energy challenges rank among the top three concerns for businesses, particularly amidst ongoing frequent power cuts. This event serves as another stepping stone in addressing how to navigate the current energy challenges, aligning with sustainable development initiatives in the business landscape of Myanmar.
