Welcoming New Board of Directors for 2024/25: A Reflect on the Achievements and Milestones
On December 1, 2023, EuroCham Myanmar marked a significant moment as it elected a fresh Board of Directors for 2024/25 during its Annual General Meeting. The EU Ambassador to Myanmar, H.E. Ranieri Sabatucci, opened the meeting, highlighting the role of the Chamber in driving the common strategy to safeguard responsible investment in Myanmar and improve people’s lives through securing decent jobs and increasing CSR activities. Our Chairman, Mr. Adrian Short, highlighted the achievements of the Chamber in the past years and thanked our members and partners for their support.
Our CEO, Ms. Karina Ufert, presented the Chamber’s achievements and financial report for the past two years, highlighting record membership numbers, which doubled since 2021 and now stand at 158 European companies, with a record retention rate of over 90%. Among other successes, there is a growing level of advocacy presence nationally and in Brussels to ensure that the voice of the European business is taken into account in policymaking and implementation.
Along with the AGM 2023 results, we welcomed a new Board of Directors 2024/25: Adrian Short MBE (Cycle & Carriage Myanmar – Mercedes-Benz and Daimler Trucks), Alex Nyi Nyi Aung (Unilever), Alexander Bohusch (Luther Myanmar), Aurelien Owen Tirode (East-West Seed), Jerome Stubert (Novotel Yangon Max), Luigi Carlini (Mandalay Yoma), Martijn van Keulen (The HEINEKEN Myanmar), Niseth Boerrigter (A.P. Moller – Maersk), and Serkan Tanka (H&M).
We look forward to working closely with the new Board of Directors, whose diverse business background will further strengthen EuroCham Myanmar’s advocacy agenda and outreach. We also take the opportunity to thank all our members for their ongoing support and trust in our Chamber.
