EuroCham Myanmar Hosts Ambassador’s Briefing to Address Business Climate and Collaboration Efforts

On Tuesday, May 21st, 2024, EuroCham Myanmar hosted the Ambassador’s Briefing. We were honored to welcome H.E. Mr. Ranieri Sabatucci, the Ambassador of the Delegation of the European Union to Myanmar, who joined us in our office, together with the representatives from EuroCham Myanmar’s Board of Directors: Niseth Boerrigter (A.P. Moller – Maersk), Aurelien Owen Tirode (East-West Seed), and Alex Nyi Nyi Aung (Unilever), to discuss the current business situation in Myanmar.

The Ambassador’s Briefing is a key part of EuroCham Myanmar’s ongoing initiative to foster regular engagement between the European Union delegation and chamber members. Attended by 75 representatives online, the briefing covered important topics such as updates and future outlooks from Brussels and the essential role of close collaboration between embassies and businesses. Following the Ambassador’s remarks, Ms. Karina Ufert, CEO of EuroCham Myanmar, presented an overview of current business sentiments and findings from the recently launched 2nd edition of the European Perception Survey on People’s Military Service Law activation.

Despite the challenges and uncertainties, there remains a strong commitment to supporting the well-being of the people and communities of Myanmar. EuroCham Myanmar, along with stakeholders and member companies, continues to make efforts to promote a responsible business agenda in Myanmar.
