Celebrating the Graduation of the First Cohort of the Cross-Internship & HR Development Programme
EuroCham Myanmar was proud to celebrate the successful graduation of the inaugural cohort of the Cross-Internship & HR Development Programme, an initiative led by our HR Working Group under the Social Responsibility Pillar, at the Novotel Yangon Max Hotel on 7 July 2026.
Launched in July 2025, the programme was established as a transformative pathway for youth to gain meaningful, hands-on professional workplace experience beyond the confines of formal education. Through practical exposure, cross-functional learning opportunities, and essential career skills, the programme empowers young professionals to build industry-relevant competencies while helping companies cultivate a sustainable talent pipeline and contribute to Myanmar’s long-term workforce development.
Over the course of more than 12 months, the interns completed:
✔️ Professional readiness training with Step-in Step-up (SISU)
✔️ Rotational placements across DKSH Myanmar, The HEINEKEN Myanmar, and Unilever Myanmar
✔️ Hands-on experience in Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Human Resources
The Graduation Ceremony brought together representatives from the Delegation of the European Union to Myanmar, EuroCham Myanmar members, partner companies, Step-in Step-up (SISU), development partners, and the graduates to celebrate this important milestone. The programme’s impact and future potential were highlighted through inspiring remarks from distinguished speakers, reflections from participating organisations, and a heartfelt appreciation speech delivered on behalf of the graduating interns. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of graduation certificates, recognising the interns’ dedication, growth, and successful completion of the programme.
This graduation represents far more than the completion of an internship programme-it is a testament to the power of collaboration between the private sector, development partners, and training providers in creating meaningful opportunities for Myanmar’s next generation of professionals.
EuroCham Myanmar extends its sincere appreciation to our implementing partners DKSH Myanmar, The HEINEKEN Myanmar, Unilever Myanmar, and our training partner Step-in Step-up (SISU) for their invaluable commitment throughout the programme. We also thank The HEINEKEN Myanmar and foodpanda Myanmar for their generous sponsorship of the Graduation Ceremony, as well as all mentors, speakers, partners, and supporters who contributed to making this initiative a success.
Together, we celebrate not only the achievements of our graduates but also a shared commitment to developing future talent and strengthening Myanmar’s workforce through responsible business collaboration.
