EuroCham Myanmar Statement on the Release of Trade Unionists and Labour Rights Activists

EuroCham Myanmar welcomes the release of U Thet Hnin Aung of the Myanmar Industries Craft and Service Trade Unions Federation (MICS-TUsF), as well as Daw Myo Myo Aye and Daw Thet Htar Swe, on 20 October 2025.

EuroCham Myanmar recognizes the vital role of effective trade unions in safeguarding responsible business operations and fair labour standards in Myanmar. The unimpeded work of Myanmar’s trade unions is essential in supporting and ensuring an environment that complies with the heightened due diligence efforts of European brands and businesses operating in or sourcing from Myanmar.
