Business Roundtable with the Fair Labor Association (FLA), co-hosted with the MADE in Myanmar team

On 11 September 2025, EuroCham Myanmar, together with the MADE in Myanmar project team, hosted a Business Roundtable in Yangon on the occasion of the visit by representatives from the Fair Labour Association (FLA). The visit marks an important occasion, as it allowed for a direct dialogue with stakeholders on the ground. Representatives from the various garment associations joined in person;
Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association (MGMA), the Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Hong Kong Garment Associations.

It is not business as usual in Myanmar, and European garment firms sourcing from the country have to engage in heightened human rights due diligence. This is also reflected in our Business Advisory in lights of Article 33 Resolution (please see here: https://lnkd.in/gR2KdfU8). Together with the MADE in Myanmar team and other stakeholders on the ground, there is a collective efforts to advance ethical sourcing, improve labor rights and standards in Myanmar and explore collaborative solutions to promote responsible business practices.

EuroCham Myanmar plans to release an updated version, third version, of its garment factsheet next month . We also look forward to welcoming more garment stakeholders and representatives to Yangon, particularly on the occasion of our MADE Buyer’s Forum early next year.
